Frequently asked questions about AI digital signage in Colombia
Everything businesses ask before putting up a screen: what the category is, what you need, how much it costs in Colombian pesos, how AI self-service works and how it compares with the alternatives. Direct answers, no fine print.
General
The basics of the category: what it is, what you need and what you don't need to get started.
What is digital signage?
It is the use of screens — a TV, a monitor or a tablet — to show your own business information: the menu, prices, promotions and daily notices. Content is managed from software, updated remotely, and nothing has to be printed.
Read the full guideDo I need internet at the location?
Yes, to receive the changes you publish. Once downloaded, content keeps playing even if the connection drops, and when it returns the screen syncs with the latest version you published. The store's regular Wi-Fi is enough.
Does it work with the screen or TV I already have?
Yes. A Smart TV with internet, a regular TV with an Android box over HDMI, or a tablet on the counter all work. You don't have to replace the screen, the mount or the electrical installation you already have.
See the tablet use caseDo I need a designer?
No. You describe the promotion in one sentence and the AI builds the piece with your logo, colors and typography. Your job is to review and confirm. That design step is exactly what leaves screens outdated when nobody in the business designs.
Pricing and contracts
Public prices in Colombian pesos, self-service, and no mandatory quote to get started.
How much does Displei.co cost per month?
The Esencial plan costs COP $129,000 per month and includes up to 3 screens. The Pro plan costs COP $397,000 per month with AI images, video and up to 10 screens. Both prices are plus 19% VAT.
What if I need one more screen than my plan includes?
You can add extra screens for COP $39,000 per month each, plus 19% VAT, without changing plans. If you need many locations or cities, the Enterprise plan is quoted based on the number of screens and sites.
Is there a lock-in clause?
No. Billing is monthly with no mandatory lock-in: you can cancel or change plans from the panel and see the impact before confirming. There is no installation project and no hardware maintenance contract either.
Does the price include the screen?
No. Displei.co is the software: the content, the publishing and the scheduling. The screen is yours, and if you need the hardware, a Smart TV, an Android box or a tablet are one-time purchases independent of the plan.

The whole flow goes from one sentence to the screen — no designer, no USB stick, and no support ticket to a third party.
How do I publish a promotion?
You write the promo in one sentence — which product, which price and which hours apply — the AI generates two versions with your brand, you pick one and confirm. Then you select the screens and the time slot: content publishes and turns itself off when the promo ends.
What is “managed remote programming” and how is it different from AI self-service?
In the managed model you send the content change to a provider and someone else schedules it for you: it can take hours or days depending on their response capacity. With Displei.co's AI self-service, you describe the promo yourself and the AI designs and publishes it in minutes.

Yes. You set weekdays and time slots in Colombia time and the screen obeys on its own: the breakfast combo until 11:00 a.m., lunch from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and the Tuesday 2-for-1 turn on and off without anyone touching them.
Does it work for several locations?
Yes. You group screens by location and publish once for all of them, or change prices and promotions per site. Nobody has to drive to each point to swap a printed sign or copy files onto a USB stick.

The comparisons businesses look up most before deciding, including wording questions such as “digital posters” or “digital signage boards”, each with its full article.
Are digital posters and digital signage the same thing?
Yes. “Digital posters”, “digital signage boards” and “digital signage” all name the same system: screens in your own business showing content you update remotely. We use “digital signage” because it is the technical term, but the product is exactly the same one.

The screen sells at the decision point, where every customer sees it without doing anything at all. The QR menu delivers the full detail at the table, on each customer's own phone. They are not mutually exclusive and many restaurants end up using both together.

With a USB stick somebody has to walk to every screen, unplug it, copy the file and plug it back in, and there is no way to schedule time slots. With AI you publish from your phone and scheduling handles the rest.

Digital signage is the screen inside your own store, to talk to whoever is already there or walking past the window. DOOH is a third-party screen network selling ad space. They are different categories and their prices are not comparable.

The real difference is not looks, it is the cost of changing: print costs time and money every time a price moves, while a screen has a monthly cost with immediate changes at no extra charge.

A traditional provider solves the physical side very well: screens, mounts and installation, quoted per project. AI self-service solves content: if you change promotions every week and nobody designs them, that is the bottleneck.
